How much does Botox cost in Dallas?

Botox costs about $22 per unit, but this can change. So, if you need 25 units to treat forehead lines and they cost $22 each, the total cost would be around $550. If you need 20 units, it will cost you $500, etc. Be careful of doctors who charge less than average but don’t have the right training.

Also, when thinking about cost, remember that if you get Botox regularly, you will eventually need 3–4 treatments per year to keep looking refreshed. Some patients need less Botox over time, so the costs go down a little bit from year to year.

What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only FDA-approved therapy for individuals who want to temporarily enhance the appearance of frown lines between their brows and crow’s feet creases. It comprises trace amounts of a highly pure botulinum toxin protein extracted from Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not available in a “generic” form. There have been no studies that show other products are equivalent to BOTOX® Cosmetic unit-to-unit.

Since 2002, about 10.9 million vials of BOTOX® Cosmetic have been marketed in the United States, and millions of people have already incorporated BOTOX® Cosmetic into their daily routine. BOTOX® Cosmetic is now the world’s best-selling cosmetic product.

How Does It Work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic targets the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years as one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet. These muscles will be injected with BOTOX® Cosmetic by our board-certified plastic surgeon. Your crow’s feet and frown lines between your brows will start to smooth out.

What are my post BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment instructions?

While the treatment has little to no downtime, it is recommended that you avoid straining, heavy lifting, or intense exercise for at least 2-3 hours thereafter. If desired, powder makeup can be done before leaving the office. For the first 2-3 hours after treatment, avoid manual manipulation of the injected area (including the use of a Clarisonic or exfoliative brush). The night before the treatment, carefully cleanse the targeted area(s). The next day, return to your regular skin-care routine.

What are common side effects?

In the frown lines studies, 3% of patients had drooping eyelids, and 1% of patients in the crow’s feet studies had swollen eyelids. Other possible side effects include dry mouth, pain or discomfort at the injection site, feeling tired, getting a headache or neck pain, having double vision, blurry vision, decreased eyesight, or dry eyes, and having an allergic reaction. These are the worst things that could happen if you use BOTOX® Cosmetic.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a technique-sensitive treatment. You should be taken care of by a doctor who is licensed, trained, and an expert in the anatomy of the face.
